when you go for karate lessons and you are a girl will you be practicing with a boy. Because if it is, it’s pretty uncomfortable.

In Karate there are a couple of things to know,
one is you learn the moves/ forms in groups individually.
You will be standing in lines, and going throw the motions (like sitting at your desk alone, but in a classroom)

You will not spare until or unless you want to go to tournaments.
At the tournaments it again is all form, and usually no actually hitting eachother, just touches that look real, because it is the form that you are practicing. And then everyone will be wearing protective gear from their head and face to their toes. No one could tell if you are a boy or a girl.

Sometimes, you will hold a defense pad, and take turns to allow eachother to practice your strikes/punches, and kicks. It won’t hurt because of the pads. This is good because you can learn from eachtother.

I’ve been in Karate a long time, even if you feel a little uncomfortable, get over it, because after going a few weeks everyone will become friendly with you, and you will learn how to properly defend yourself, and gain confindence in doing so.
