its the one that you see tai long practicing on and destroying when he is being trained by Shi Fu.
I could also be the Muk Yan Jong, a traditionally wooden practice Dummy
Or, the Sui Sau Jong, which has a spinning arm.
And for the other answerer, kung fu is a really broad term (it could mean biking or chess too).
I think a bo is a staff (i practice with them)
I am looking for a kung fu or Ninja traning classes in hong kong(english version) if yess can you plz give me the address and tele phone number of it

Does anyone know where i can learn the best training in kung fu in tulsa oklahoma? If you know a cheap one to, please do share that also.
Depends on the type of Kung Fu you are looking for. If you want traditional wushu then I would check out the Lohan WuShu Kung Fu Center. If you like Hung Gar or Choi Li Fut then Ten-tigers in Broken Arrow or the Ray Hildreth Academy of Self Defense. The Tulsa Arnis Club teaches Filipino Martial Arts and Indonesian/Chinese Kun Tao. The Tulsa Arnis Club website is http://www.tulsaarnis.com. These guys know their stuff, and have the teachers to back it up.
I would like to get some advice from Martial artists of the training that Crane style Kung Fu go trough especially the balance. I would like to learn how they learn to balance without difficulty and the training they go trough. Like in this video "http://www.hulu.com/watch/122689/fight-science-crane-style-kung-fu#s-p1-sr-i1". Are there any websites or videos that I can watch on the internet to see their training?
Balance is balance – there’s no specific training but good balance will help you with all aspects of your training. A few things that helped me – tying shoelaces by getting into a crane posture rather than kneeling to the laces. The concentration on the shoe helps to balance you. Practice Crane Stance and try to keep a clear mind while in the stance – if you start worrying then you’ll fall.
Remember to keep the knee high and the foot pointed.
I don’t mean perfection but a satisfactory level
well actually kung fu in chinese is literally doing something for a long time. i have a friend who took it and did explain to me that it would take a long time to be efficient at it in self defence, because of form work and stuff like that. he switched to ninjitsu after 2 years of kung fu. he still thinks kung fu is great and worth taking though.
I used to train kung fu, but then I moved to NYC, and I want to continue. I’ve been researching about kung fu schools in Manhattan or Queens, and the best one I’ve found was "Shaolin Kung Fu Training Center " in Manhattan. Did any1 train there, still is training? Do you know anything about it? I didn’t find how much it costs on their web site, either.
Thanks to anyone who tries to help me ! ~_~
check out fighthouse on 27th between 6th and 7th. They train in just about everything. There is some other places around there but i dont remember exactly what streets they are on or what arts they train in.
Please share your positive experiences. Please list places to avoid as well.
I trained at Tiger Academy (intersection of 400 and 92). It offers BJJ, wing chun, and MMA (muay thai, bjj, wing chun, weapons) classes. The BJJ and private classes are outstanding for MMA athletes and anyone looking for hardcore training.
The other classes are good for newbs and non-MMA athletes. These classes are no joke, but clearly not as hardcore as the BJJ and private classes. However, students are able to sign up for whichever classes they want.
Either way, Tiger Academy has a strong sense of morality and principles…which promotes athletic character, dedication to learning techniques, and hard (but safe) training. These principles also create a fantastic environment for young kids to train in; thus TA has a terrific kids program.
The only other place I’ve heard of is Knuckle Up. It seems like an LA Fitness center customized specifically for MMA training. That way you can go to a class if you want, or just show up anytime and lift weights and hit the heavy bag.
The ONLY two teachers I recommend, only because they are legitimate, with true lineage are:
David Lin – Natural Chinese Martial Arts – is the only teacher in the U.S. that knows and teaches the complete Sun Lu Tang lineage of Internal arts, plus others including Northern Shaolin, and was Assistant to Chang Tung Sheng, Grand Master of Shuai Jiao known as the "Flying Butterfly".
Master Lin was also in the Royal Iron Guard.
AND
Yang Fukui – Heart and Mind Martial Arts. Extraordinary martial arts practitioner and Teacher.
does anyone know any kung fu conditioning i can do at home easily? i live in england so it isnt easy to get equipment easily but have recently started the iron body training. what else can i learn at home with little equipment?
Speaking form personal experience you really do need a qualified instructor/teacher in order to get the best training as they will be able to tell when you’re over doing it, or doing it wrong, or are not training hard enough, much better than you can.
I trained on my own for a year before joining a professional martial arts school in China, and the difference is significant, especially when it comes to motivating and pushing you to reach your full potential.
But if you insist, you need to do a mixture of stamina training and flexibility training. The latter of which is much easier if you have a partner. Neither actually requires much in the way of special equipment. Even my pro trainer mostly relied on pairing people up and having them use their own bodies rather than actual equipment.
has anyone ever studied kung fu there or knows anything about the place? I feel like it’s a good school but I want to hear other opinions.
not heard of it since am from the UK… haha, ok not really funny ;p
i studied Shaolin Dragon Style.
but no matter what style and whos advise, it always best to go and have a look yourself, also keep an eye on the trainer and watch the student… you can always spot a good teacher from how well he teaches and the general level of his class.
look around and afew different places… u’ll prob notice there are
greater master, but some cant teach.
great talker, but thats it…
and some purely just for the money. but if u look hard enough u will find amazing teachers who wont hold any knowledge back if your willing to learn.
happy hunting!!
